Hourly Flex Pricing Pilot Program - Coming Soon

Agricultural customers can save money and energy with scheduled irrigation

What is Hourly Flex Pricing?

Hourly Flex Pricing is a pilot program that offers agricultural customers a way to lower energy costs while promoting a more reliable grid and cleaner energy. Customers can participate in the program by scheduling irrigation to operate during non-peak hours.

With Hourly Flex Pricing, customers can maintain or lower electricity rates for most of the year. Prices change hourly and are set the day before, so customers can plan their irrigation schedules ahead of time. By checking prices in advance, customers can:

  • Save money by using energy when it’s less expensive.
  • Shift usage away from peak times and higher prices during high-demand periods.

Pilot Details

  • This pilot runs through December 31, 2027, and is available to qualifying agricultural customers.
  • Electricity prices change hourly. This program allows customers to view the seven-day forecast of electricity prices by the hour and set the hours equipment will operate in advance, enabling customers to lock in the best possible pricing.
  • Hourly Flex Pricing is risk-free. Billing is based on the customer’s current rate plan. Customers receive a credit after each 12-month period if they paid less on the Hourly Flex Pricing compared to their current rate plan.
  • Customers are encouraged to stay enrolled for the duration of the pilot. This will help assess the benefits for customers and grid reliability to improve the program for the future. However, customers can terminate their participation at any time.
