Local control means that Pioneer works with local businesses and strives to impact the local economy. Pioneer’s board of directors has made it a priority to reinvest in the local economy. When economically feasible Pioneer will select local businesses for contracts and purchases. Since 2020, Pioneer invested over $8 million in local business through contracts and purchases.

Established in 1986 by AB 3678 (Moore), the California Public Utilities Commission’s Supplier Diversity Program aims to increase utility expenditures with diverse vendors and businesses. We encourage all eligible businesses to apply for one of the following certifications:
