Rocklin, CA — Pioneer Community Energy (Pioneer) – a locally owned not-for-profit electricity provider headquartered in Rocklin, California, kicks off the 2026 season of money-saving programs created exclusively for the communities it serves on April 1. The diverse offering of programs helps customers reduce electricity costs and support grid reliability ahead of and during the hot and more costly summer months.

“Each of the Pioneer programs were created with input from our Community Advisory Committee to make sure the voices and priorities our members are reflected in the programs we offer,” said Chief Executive Officer Don Eckert. “From rebates and incentives, rewarding energy conservation when the grid is strained, to finding individualized search results that tell customers what savings they may qualify for, Pioneer helps customers take practical steps to greater manage energy use and lower bills.”

Returning by popular demand, the AC Tune-Up Program kicks off on April 1st, offering customers up to a $75 rebate just for servicing their air conditioning system through a licensed technician. New for 2026: business customers now are eligible for a $150 rebate. Not only is this significant savings on a tune up, but an AC system that is regularly serviced will see increased efficiency and a lengthened unit life. This program runs through October 1st.

On May 1, PowerShift Rewards incentivizes customers to reduce energy consumption when the power grid is strained or during peak energy events. Customers who enroll in the program immediately earn a $25 Prepaid MasterCard®, then earn $2 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for reducing electricity usage during designated events. Customers can also add $10 to their rewards by referring a new customer to the program.

Business and residential customers interested in a cost-effective way to install solar plus battery or a battery retrofit can check out the GridGen program. GridGen offers customers a way to install solar and storage to their home with no up-front cost and no credit underwriting. Participating customers will continue to just receive one bill, and will benefit from predictable energy costs, a 1.9 percent low-rate escalator, and a long-term program agreement that provides savings throughout the 25-year life of the program.

Finally, Pioneer has officially launched its all-new Incentive Finder, an online tool created to help customers find rebates, tax credits, discounts, and financing alternatives, including appliance rebates – all with the goal of saving them money. Through filtering questions and interests, customers receive customized results to inform them of eligibility for incentives.
