AC Tune-Up Program

Prepare your business for the summer heat!

Pioneer offers commercial customers up to a $150 rebate for AC tune-ups.

Tune-up the air conditioner at your business location between April 1 – October 1 and receive up to a $150 rebate!

An AC system that is regularly serviced can increase its efficiency, which in turn saves money by lowering monthly energy bills.

Pioneer customers interested in participating should:

  1. Read all program and application requirements below before submitting an application. Incomplete applications will not be approved.
  2. Confirm you are a Pioneer customer by checking your PG&E bill. The program application requires the customer’s 10-digit ESP Customer Number and the account holder information that is listed on the PG&E bill.
  3. Schedule a tune-up with a licensed contractor and have the tune-up performed between April 1 and October 1. To check if a contractor is licensed, customers should visit the Contractor’s State License Board

    • Date of the AC tune-up service
    • Itemized description that a tune-up was performed
    • Itemized cost of the tune-up service only
    • Verification the tune-up service was paid in full with a $0 balance invoice or marked as PAID
  5. Customers on a maintenance plan must submit an additional Payment History Report equal to or exceeding $150 worth of payment history prior to date of tune-up.

The Pioneer program that pays $75 for a A/C or heat pump maintenance check pays for almost all of my $80 fee. The application form is not too tedious and the response approving the request was fast. The actual refund may take 3-4 weeks but it always comes. Great program. As a solar customer of Pioneer, the savings are only a little better than PG&E, but the $75 dollar rebate keeps me with Pioneer.
I love the rebate program for biannually checking the efficiency of my central AC. It is easy to forget about it. “If it ain’t broke, ignore it .” Your program reminds me it’s time to do some maintenance and it off sets the cost. Thank you for this program.
The AC tuneup program is a great wat to recoup some of the cost of the tuneup. Pioneer also offers a variety of money savings programs. Any communications I have had with Pioneer have been addressed in a timely manner.
Well, that was cool! We recently moved and wanted to replace all the light bulbs in the house with LEDs. I noticed Pioneer’s GreenLite program at the local hardware store on Main Street in Placerville and was able to buy four bulbs for about $1! I wasn’t sure if we were opted into Pioneer at our new house, but it didn’t matter if we were or weren’t. Pretty cool!
Every contact I've had with Pioneer has been efficient, pleasant and easy to take care of. This applies to their programs, refunds and billing.

No, you do not have to use any specific contractor. The only requirement is that the contractor must be licensed in the State of California, and it is recommended that the ACCA Standard 4 endorsed set of inspection tasks are used for the service.

Rebate processing in total can take 6-8 weeks. Once the rebate is processed, you must deposit your check within 90 days of receiving your rebate.

Servicing an AC unit ensures that it is running efficiently and helps identify potential problems. A routinely serviced HVAC is more energy efficient, which will save you money on your energy bills, and typically lasts longer.

Yes. If you have a current maintenance agreement for your system, then you are eligible for the rebate. For your rebate to be approved, you must include your Payment History Report from your contractor, along with the invoice for the service completed within the program window.
