El Dorado County businesses will experience a savings of approximately 6 percent on their gerneration rates in 2022, which directly benefits the bottom line of every business.

PG&E Rate Increases

Pioneer strives for transparency by publishing changes to PG&E’s fees and rates. 

  • In January 2022, Transmission and Distribution rates for all nonresidential rates were increased significantly.
  • Over the first few months of 2022, natural gas prices have nearly doubled when compared with earlier prices. PG&E passes these costs on to customers in the form of monthly rate adjustments and increases.
  • These changes affect both Pioneer customers and those who have opted out.
  • In February 2022, PG&E submitted an additional rate increase notification to the California Public Utilities Commission.

Power Charge Indifference Adjustment (PCIA)– A PG&E Imposed - Exit Fee

  • In March 2022, Pioneer customers saw a modification to their applicable PCIA.
  • All rate analyses are performed using the appropriate PCIA plus Pioneer’s applicable generation rate.
  • To determine your applicable PCIA, please look at your PG&E bill. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to call the Pioneer office at (916) 758-8969.

Pioneer Commercial Rate Adjustments

  • In March 2022, Pioneer customers experienced an adjustment to their applicable Generation rate.
  • Pioneer’s Board of Directors approved a rate-setting schedule that will see all customers realizing a minimum of 6 percent savings on the generation portion of their bill.
